Intermediate Web Developer

Working under the supervision of the Lead Developer, the Intermediate Web Developer plays a key role in planning major web strategy initiatives, developing infrastructure, and advising on extensibility to meet current and future project objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of industry-leading web applications in collaboration with the team, enhancing user experience, and maximizing member retention and engagement
  • Provides development support to each team to ensure web development solutions provide measurable results

  • Identifies inefficiencies within existing web applications and proposes solutions
  • Develops brand-specific web projects, combining experience and proven solutions

Qualifications & Skills

  • Comprehensive experience with C#/Java and .NET is required
  • Certifications and demonstrated proficiency in web development, including HTML, MS SQL and C#/Java .NET are strongly advised
  • Experience developing and maintaining MS SQL Servers and databases

Director, Digital Marketing

The Director, Digital Marketing is primarily responsible for defining, managing and overseeing the execution of the strategic vision of the Digital Media team.  They will work closely with Arcane’s management team to promote internal and external thought leadership while supporting new business and generating business growth.

Duties & Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Act as a mentor to the digital media team, by providing guidance, leadership, and overseeing their professional development
  • Establish and understand digital marketing best practices for the team, championing consistency in the execution of tactics
  • Act as a coach to the Senior Manager, Digital Media, to ensure effective mentorship and development is being provided to all team members
  • Work closely with the Senior Manager, Digital Media to ensure the digital media team is executing effectively and efficiently
  • Oversee team performance / KPI’s and report back to senior leadership on department deliverables when required

Company Leadership

  • Collaborate with management and leadership to perform services at a high level, execute on product offerings, and increase profitability of the company
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration and refine marketing strategies for success with other team directors
  • Approach team and organization with providing a holistic view to ensure the impact and all risks have been considered

Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years’ in a marketing strategy role
  • 5+ years’ in a leadership role
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams & managing department budgets
  • Experience in a relevant role involving communications planning and marketing strategy

An Account Coordinator at Arcane is primarily responsible for the internal management and coordination of client projects. An Intermediate Interactive Designer at Arcane will be responsible for creating goal-oriented digital properties. The incumbent will work collaboratively with SEO Specialists, Account Managers, Creative Directors, and Developers to map site architecture, construct wireframes, and design beautifully functional websites. Development Manager

The intent of this role is to manage the people and processes of our Development Team to ensure the timely and accurate completion of specified deliverables. The Manager, Development will identify and drive efficiencies in our processes allowing exceptional product delivery. They demonstrate a strong working knowledge of various languages and platforms, exceptional people management skills, and strong organizational skills.  

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitors overall team performance and capacity and contributes to future resource planning

  • Reviews all development projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget and scope, and of high quality

  • Empowers and supports the Development Team in addressing any budget, timing, or functionality roadblocks that that may prevent the seamless completion of tasks and projects

  • Assesses the capabilities of individual team members in partnership with the respective Lead Developers

  • Supports the creation and implementation of individual professional growth plans for each team member, in conjunction with the lead developers

  • Collaborates with Director of Web Development to establish and document project strategy

  • Assists the team in prioritizing projects and tasks, while continuously following up on task progress

  • Coaches and supports the Lead Developers through tasks and situations, both internal and external facing

  • Identifies process efficiencies, driving the implementation and monitoring of those efficiencies across the team

  • Represents the Development Team at general daily and client-specific "kanban" meetings, monitoring scope and long-term project deadlines

  • Accompanies Lead Developers in meetings with Account Managers and clients to determine the details of the Project Requirement Document (PRD)

  • Collaborates with Lead Developers to discuss project requirements, direction, and progress on established timelines

  • Works with the Support Coordinator to ensure a good flow of tasks, allocation, and internal communications

  • Works with the Director, Web Development to review project quotes/requirements prior to quote sign-off

  • Reconciles weekly Development Team timesheets and monitors actual vs. estimated time spent on all projects, identifying trends and addressing concerns

  • Develops, refines, and improves team processes to better manage the Development Team and workflow

  • Encourages and facilitates strong team communication and accountability using collaboration tools, in person meetings, and “management by walking around”

Qualifications & Skills

  • 10+ years of proven web development experience in an agency or corporate environment

  • Proven experience successfully managing a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfortable holding individuals and teams accountable to deadlines, budgets, and quality standards

  • Comprehensive experience and demonstrated proficiency in web development

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of HTML and CSS to collaborate with Web Designer(s) & Front-End Developers

  • Solid understanding of development requirements in a variety of projects and the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely fashion

Winter 2018 Internship

As an intern, you will be key in ensuring our day-to-day operations run smoothly by helping alleviate some of the workload from our team and to ensure that each facet of every campaign is properly analyzed and recorded. Through your contribution to strategic growth within digital marketing, you will develop an understanding of each facet of the marketing and advertising industry from an agency perspective. This will provide you with robust experience that will continue to inform your career in marketing.

All students in the program will gain valuable experience working alongside some of Canada’s top digital talents. In order to maximize your internship experience, you will be exposed to as many facets of the digital marketing world as possible. As a result, our program is very flexible, allowing you the opportunity to work with a variety of professionals. Your experience at Arcane will provide you with the tools and skills necessary to enter the workforce with applicable experience and knowledge.

Each year, we have a variety of internship positions available. This fall, we are looking for passionate individuals to fill the following Internship opportunities: 

  • Account Coordinator - London office

  • Digital Marketing - London office  

  • Graphic Design - London office

  • Digital Project Management - London office

  • Market Research - London office

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a college or university program with a required full-time internship component

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Passion for digital marketing and a willingness to learn

  • Easily adaptable and open to any opportunities that arise

  • Not afraid to speak up, ask questions, and challenge thinking!
