Statement of Commitment to Accessibility

Arcane is committed to providing services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities and an accessible and barrier-free environment. As an organization, we respect and uphold the requirements set forth under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (2005), the Customer Service Standard, and the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation for Information and Communications, Employment, and Transportation.

We are committed to providing quality services that are accessible to all individuals and clients that we interact with and each member of Arcane has a responsibility for ensuring a safe and dignified environment for everyone who walks through our door, from team members to clients to visitors. Providing an accessible and barrier-free environment is a shared effort.


Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

Arcane has created a multi-year Accessibility Plan that outlines our strategy to prevent and remove barriers from our workplace and continuously improve opportunities for persons with disabilities. This Multi Year plan will be reviewed and updated by our team at least once every five years.

Service Animals and Support Persons

Arcane welcomes people with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal or a support person, for the duration of their visit.

When Arcane hosts and event or an event is Arcane sponsored, the support person will be able to attend the event at no charge when there is a cost for the event.


Communication

Arcane will communicate to people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability. The Arcane team is trained on how to interact and communicate with the diverse community and people with various types of disabilities. Upon request, Arcane will provide, or will arrange for the provision of accessible formats and communication supports for persons with disabilities in a timely manner that takes into account the person’s accessibility needs due to their disability. If this occurs, Arcane will consult with the person making the request in determining the suitability of an accessible format or communication support.


Temporary Disruption

In the event of a temporary disruption to any of our services, every reasonable effort will be made to provide notice of disruption to our clients and the public by way of a posted notice in a visible place, at the affected location and on our website. Details of the disruption will include the nature of the disruption, anticipated duration, and description of alternative facilities that may be available.


Training for the Arcane Team

The Arcane team is provided with training as required by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.

Arcane is committed to ensuring our services are accessible to people with disabilities. If you have any feedback that you wish to communicate with the Arcane team, it can be provided to any member of the Arcane team by mail, phone or email.
