Jr. Digital Project Manager

A Jr. Digital Project Manager @ Arcane manages website creation across clients driving efficiencies in the process, ensuring we work within scope and delivery timing. The Jr. Digital Project Manager role emphasizes exceptional organizational skills, adept task planning and management, and a thorough understanding of product and project life cycles in the context of the agency. They will act as lead on website projects across the Account Management Team.

Duties & Responsibilities:   

  • Meets with account teams and clients to determine scope and requirements of assigned digital project
  • Involved in client briefing, ensuring all information needed by internal team is captured
  • Quotes budgets and setting timelines, ensure all team leads are aligned and approved
  • Works with production manager and AM to create workback schedule
  • In charge of following up with multifunctional teams, ensuring project is on track and flagging any budget, timing, or functionality issues
  • Contributes to team morale and to the overall agency culture
  • Cooperates in brainstorms, contributes ideas, and collaborates with internal team members
  • Represents the agency in cross-agency team meetings
  • Collaborates with all agency teams to coordinate the successful and profitable completion of project initiatives
  • Provides constructive input and creative thinking in solutions with an eye towards efficiency
  • Anticipates potential scope issues and proactively addresses internally for AM to address with their client to ensure that each project is within scope and delivered on time
  • Reconciles weekly timesheets of all projects and monitors actual vs. estimated time spent on all projects for maximum accuracy and recovery of hours. Incorporates learnings into future quote development
  • Encourages and facilitates strong project communication with your team using collaboration tools, in-person meetings, and “management by walking around”

Qualifications / Skills

  • Solid understanding of project management methodology, including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, and generate detailed timelines and workback schedules
  • Ability to define project requirements and scope of work while managing budgets, timelines and reporting requirements as per client standards
  • Basic understanding of online marketing, branding, and integrated marketing principles
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and constructive team environment, involving multiple clients and inter-agency touchpoints
  • Provides timely feedback to your direct report on progress against goals
  • Interest and willingness to contribute to larger client and internal strategic priorities
  • Ability to solve problems with keen instincts and organizational experience

Search Specialist

Search Specialist = Paid + Organic. We are looking for a rising star to join our team in Toronto. You are working in Paid Search, have Google certifications and are looking to expand your skillset to include SEO.

The Search Specialist will be responsible for the execution of paid search campaigns and integration with digital marketing projects. The successful candidate will work with Arcane SEO leaders to learn about our highly successful style of technical SEO. The Search Specialist will work directly in collaboration with Digital Media team and the Account Management team to support client needs.

You will be responsible for the development of paid search campaigns (and eventually the integration of Paid + Organic).

The ideal candidate is a self-starting, performance driven individual looking to further their own career and education with constant innovation. You are comfortable working in a non-traditional environment, and want to support company growth by confidently bringing new ideas and a unique perspective to each job.

Selection criteria includes understanding and upholding Arcane’s values while living and breathing digital media!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Senior Manager, Digital Media and Paid Search Lead in defining strategy, using various digital media tactics to drive and increase ROI for our clients

  • Execute Paid Search strategies and campaigns, analyzing data, and assisting in preparation of reports

  • Collaborate to ensure the most effective strategy, incorporating SEO

  • Meet with clients (as requested by the Account Manager) to offer insights, clearly outlining the efficacy of current digital media, specifically relating to paid search initially (and eventually organic)

  • Accountable for staying up to date on the latest digital marketing trends, specifically paid and organic search

  • Continuously broaden knowledge of Paid Search and maintain Google Partners certification

  • Increase visibility into SERPs that will affect the greatest return for clients through keyword research and analysis, user experience (UX) audits, recommendations of optimization opportunities and implementation, and copywriting

  • Conduct and report on research surrounding target audience identification, competitive analysis, qualitative web site profiling, search engine keyword analysis, and secondary research aggregation

  • Other duties as required

Qualifications / Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role or digital media capacity

  • College or University-level education, or equivalent experience

  • Great with numbers, dedication to tracking metrics and delivering results

  • Ability to create sustainable work that is valuable for clients

  • A strong understanding of paid search practice, both application and theory

  • Google AdWords Certified, knowledge of Google Analytics and best practices for SEO

  • Additional Google Certifications are ideal, Bing experience is a bonus

  • Solutions-oriented, self-starter with a passion for experimentation and testing new ideas

  • Able to identify opportunities within ongoing strategies for areas of optimization

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of quality

  • Dedicated to delivering the best results for clients

Fall 2017 Internship

As an intern, you will be key in ensuring our day-to-day operations run smoothly by helping alleviate some of the workload from our team and to ensure that each facet of every campaign is properly analyzed and recorded. Through your contribution to strategic growth within digital marketing, you will develop an understanding of each facet of the marketing and advertising industry from an agency perspective. This will provide you with robust experience that will continue to inform your career in marketing.

All students in the program will gain valuable experience working alongside some of Canada’s top digital talents. In order to maximize your internship experience, you will be exposed to as many facets of the digital marketing world as possible. As a result, our program is very flexible, allowing you the opportunity to work with a variety of professionals. Your experience at Arcane will provide you with the tools and skills necessary to enter the workforce with applicable experience and knowledge.

Responsibilities:  

  • Collaborate with account managers to understand, estimate, prioritize, and implement requests for change

  • Create back-end solutions in team operating with a variety of tech-stacks (.NET, C#/Java, MSSQL or PHP, Laravel, MySQL)

  • Develop/integrate RESTful API projects within Web Applications

  • Act as an experienced, passionate Web Developer, upholding our mission, vision and values through interactions with clients and peers

  • Participate in team solutions planning, design reviews and client requirements sessions

  • Assist in the creation of accurate costing estimates and delivery timelines

  • Work with junior/co-op developers to maximize both their project contributions and education opportunity

Qualifications:

  • Proven web development experience in an agency or corporate environment

  • Proven, thorough knowledge of .NET, C#/Java, MSSQL or PHP, Laravel, MySQL

  • Strong HTML, CSS, & JavaScript (core, libraries, and/or frameworks) fundamentals are a must

  • Understanding and experience with third party service integrations via RESTful APIs or web services

  • Ability and enthusiasm to adapt and expand technology skills to changing industry demands

  • Advanced understanding of web authoring and publishing tools

  • Good understanding of common design software/tools including Adobe Photoshop, Sketch, and InVision

  • Experience using version control (Git) in a team setting
