Sr. Web Developer - Contract

A Sr. Web Developer at Arcane plays a key role in planning major web strategy initiatives, developing infrastructure, and advising on extensibility to meet current and future project objectives.

Web Developers at Arcane work in a team environment, with our diverse and talented group of individuals to create and execute original visual design concepts using a variety of technology stacks. A great candidate will be a confident coder with strong solution planning and debugging skills. We look for candidates with proven experience in agency or corporate backgrounds, with the self-drive to help our clients sell more.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership for the delivery of industry-leading web applications in collaboration with the team, enhancing user experience, and maximizing member retention and engagement

  • Actively contributes to project development, supporting teams to ensure web development solutions account for provide best practice standards and result in measurable client goals

  • Works independently to self-manage the delivery of exceptional results

  • Identifies inefficiencies within existing web applications and proposes solutions

  • Develops brand-specific web projects, combining experience and proven solutions

  • Documents and collaborates on web strategies, using a variety of communication channels and platforms with internal and external stakeholders

  • Works with the Development team to develop new and exciting web application features

  • Coordinates and consolidates project updates as required to maximize other department contributions

  • Act as a mentor for team members and assisting them in developing their skills

  • May be required to work off site at local client headquarters

Qualifications & Skills

  • 7+ years of proven web development experience in an agency or corporate environment

  • College diploma or university degree in computer science or web development

  • Comprehensive experience with PHP/Laravel, .NET/Java/C# is required

  • Certifications and/or demonstrated proficiency in web development is an asset for this position

  • Experience developing and maintaining My SQL databases & servers

  • Experience integrating third party API (REST/SOAP)

  • Advanced  capabilities with scripting languages such as JavaScript and jQuery

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of HTML and CSS to collaborate with Web Designer(s) & Front-End Developers

  • Personal professional development, self-driven to find robust solutions

  • Practical experience utilizing common web authoring and publishing tools

  • Solid understanding of Code Version Control (SVN/GIT) and related tools (Tortoise/BitBucket/SourceTree)

Content Specialist

A Content Specialist at Arcane will be a creative asset to our team of content specialists, utilizing their exceptional writing skills to create memorable relationships between brands and consumers.This role requires an always-innovative, analytical and results-oriented individual with a passion for digital media.

Duties & Responsibilities:   

Content Creation

  • Create engaging daily content for use across social media platforms, websites, blogs, and other online channels

  • Fluently adapt to different forms of content including SEO writing, social media, web, and long-form writing

  • Participate in the ideation and writing for content-centric campaigns, including editing and quality assurance

  • Integrate work across channels including social media, email marketing, blogging, digital advertising, website copy, and more

Scheduling, Reporting & Insights

  • Manage the execution of social media campaigns, including scheduling, targeting and optimization, focusing on clients’ KPIs

  • Continuously provide thought leadership, marrying content writing and all digital marketing channels

  • Manage and execute paid and promoted campaigns across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Content Distribution Networks

  • Provide insightful feedback into the development of various content strategies and inform other digital marketing tactics

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a content writing role

  • Knowledge and experience of web copy and social content writing

  • Ability to craft a strong, purposeful, and effective brand voice

  • Exceptional writing skills and a passion for social media

  • Experience in ad copywriting, technical SEO writing, and/or digital advertising is an asset

  • Agile and able to adjust tone and language based on brand identity

Digital Analytics Manager

The Digital Analytics Manager is the keeper, organizer, and disseminator of Arcane’s marketing data. Working with fellow Digital Media team members and Account Management, the Digital Analytics Manager will help standardize, customize, and produce accurate and informative performance reports for internal stakeholders. Outside of data work, it is also expected that the Digital Analytics Manager will work with Operations to help improve processes within the Digital Media team, focusing on executing for strategic results.

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting & Marketing Insights

  • Analyze, visualize, and model digital marketing related data

  • Use past marketing spend data to model and predict expected future results

  • Consolidate, process, and validate data from multiple sources (ex. Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Lead the organization in data collection, aggregation, analysis, visualization, and monitoring of data

  • Constant application of data analytics to provide insights and business intelligence, discovering information to assist in delivering actionable insights

  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis and present accurate KPI-based results to internal stakeholders

  • Evaluate and implement new data analysis/intelligence tools as needed

  • Work with Arcane’s Development team to increase efficiencies in warehousing data

Business Process & Logic

  • Identify opportunities to improve process within Digital Media team

  • Evolve, plan, and assist in executing the strategy for Digital Analytics and its impact on deliverables

  • Assist/lead design and implementation of solutions to workflow issues

  • Provide technical leadership to members of Digital Media team

Qualifications & Skills

  • 3–5 years of working with large data systems

  • 5+ years of experience in business/data analyst role

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams

  • Expert analytical and creative problem solving skills using statistical analysis is required

  • Experience using report writing tools (e.g. SQL, Crystal)

  • Proven experience in data collection, aggregation, analysis, visualization, and monitoring of data

  • Strong business acumen with a high sense of curiosity

  • Natural ability and desire to take the smallest of details and marry them to the bigger business picture

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Highly organized, motivated and passionate; effortlessly flows from working in a close-knit team to working independently

  • Ability to generate original ideas and to bring about their implementation

  • Capable of self-managing their time; can balance workload and multiple projects with ease

Fall 2017 Internship

As an intern, you will be key in ensuring our day-to-day operations run smoothly by helping alleviate some of the workload from our team and to ensure that each facet of every campaign is properly analyzed and recorded. Through your contribution to strategic growth within digital marketing, you will develop an understanding of each facet of the marketing and advertising industry from an agency perspective. This will provide you with robust experience that will continue to inform your career in marketing.

All students in the program will gain valuable experience working alongside some of Canada’s top digital talents. In order to maximize your internship experience, you will be exposed to as many facets of the digital marketing world as possible. As a result, our program is very flexible, allowing you the opportunity to work with a variety of professionals. Your experience at Arcane will provide you with the tools and skills necessary to enter the workforce with applicable experience and knowledge.

Each year, we have a variety of internship positions available. This fall, we are looking for passionate individuals to fill the following Internship opportunities:

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a college or university program with a required full-time internship component
